Dementia Friendly Garden Evaluation Process

Dementia Friendly Garden Evaluation Process

Visited the third and fourth care homes in the Dementia Friendly Garden project this week. On Mon the team visited St. Patricks NH in Carrick-on-Shannon. We were warmly welcomed by Antony Wadd (DoN) and Sharon Richardson (Senior Occupational Therapist). We had a lovely visit to the dementia unit and got loads of information for the Dementia Friendly Garden design process.
On Friday we visited St. Clare’s NH in Glasnevin. We were met by Hilary Kingston (Activity Co-ordinator) and a selection of staff and volunteers. Again the hospitality was first class and we had an enjoyable day gathering information to inform our design.
We now have to evaluate all this information and try to select the care home that will have a garden built at cost price.
We hope to have this decision made by the end of August.
